Hi! I’m Alyssa, the therapist behind Good Enough Therapy.

Therapy isn’t about having all the right answers—it’s about figuring out what actually works for you. If you’ve made it this far, you’ve already taken the hardest step, and that’s no small thing.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University, specializing in mental and behavioral health. My career began in substance abuse treatment, where I spent years working with people at some of the most challenging points in their lives. I know firsthand that healing isn’t linear—setbacks happen, and change is hard. But I also know that with the right support, people are capable of rewriting their stories.
In private practice, I’ve expanded my work to include eating disorders, OCD, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I specialize in helping clients untangle the unhelpful patterns that keep them stuck—whether it’s intrusive thoughts, emotional dysregulation, or feeling like they’ve lost control of their own lives. I work with teens (15+), adults, and families, offering therapy that’s real, validating, and actually helpful.

Therapy with me isn’t about endless affirmations or pretending everything is fine when it’s not. I use a mix of different modalities, like DBT, CBT, psychoeducation, and more to inform my practice—but more than that, I focus on meeting you where you are, without pressure or judgment. I’m direct but compassionate, sarcastic but warm, and I believe in using silence when it’s needed. Clients often tell me that I have a way of helping them see things from a totally new angle—without making them feel like they should be anywhere other than where they are.
I also don’t believe in moralizing personal choices. We all develop coping mechanisms for a reason—some just stop working as well as they used to. My job isn’t to tell you what’s “right” or “wrong.” It’s to help you figure out what’s sustainable and aligned with the life you actually want to be living.

I’ve been on the other side of the therapy room, and I know what it’s like to feel unseen, misunderstood, or like you’re just another name on a caseload. I also know how powerful therapy can be when it’s done right. That’s why I started The Good Enough Therapy Group—to create a space where people don’t have to perform or prove they’re “sick enough” to deserve help. You’re already enough, exactly as you are.
Whether you’re struggling with an eating disorder, addiction, OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, or just feeling lost, I’m here to help. Therapy won’t magically fix everything overnight, but it can help you find clarity, take control, and build something better—one step at a time.
And if you do virtual sessions, you’ll probably meet my cat and dog, who have decided they are also part of this practice. 💙
